History of Emporio Armani
Since long time, Italy has been renowned worldwide for its heritage sites, cuisine, fashion-houses, football, automobile industry, art and culture. The country is also the birth place of several iconic fashion clothing brands. Among them, Armani is a much respected name in the fashion and lifestyle products industry.
This iconic fashion empire was founded by the world-renowned Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani. Born in 1934, Armani kick-started his professional career in the medical sector. In 1953, he joined the Army. However, in 1957 he left the military service to explore appropriate opportunities in the fashion clothing arena. He had worked with Italian fashion retailer La Rinascente before joining Cerruti, the haute-couture house founded by Nino Cerruti.
Before founding his own fashion empire, Armani had been working as a freelance designer for prestigious fashion houses like Allegri, Bagutta, Hilton, Sicons, Gibò, Montedoro, and Tendresse. In 1975, the visionary fashion expert founded his own company Giorgio Armani S.p.A. in Milan.
Gradually, Giorgio Armani has introduced various clothing labels dedicated to diverse spectrums of customers and age groups. Meantime, Armani has also started diversifying their business by investing in fashion accessories, lifestyle products and services.
Presently, the Armani Group is one of the leading fashion-companies in the world. Headquartered in Milan, the group designs, produces, distributes and sells fashion and lifestyle products. Their product range currently includes apparel, accessories, eyewear, watches, jewelry, cosmetics, perfumes, furniture and home decor under the following brands: Giorgio Armani Privé, Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, Armani Collezioni, AJ Armani Jeans, A/X Armani Exchange, Armani Junior and Armani Casa.

In 1997, Armani signed a global licensing partnership with Fossil Group to design, develop and distribute watches under the Emporio Armani label. Fossil group also started producing Emporio Armani jewellery in 2002.
In partnership with Fossil group, Giorgio Armani also introduced affordable fashion-watches under the Armani Exchange (A/X) brand in 2008. Most importantly, a Swiss made collection of timepieces under the Emporio Armani Swiss Made label was launched in 2014. This successful partnership was renewed again in 2014 for the next 10 years.
Since 1997, Fossil Group has been manufacturing various jewellery and watch collections for Emporio Armani and Armani Exchange (A/X) brands. At present, this extensive watch collection comprises quartz, automatic, hybrid and smart watches.
