HYT Watches

ALL HYT WATCHES MODELS

HYT is a high-end Swiss luxury manufacture specialized in the production of so-called hydro-mechanical wristwatches, which track the time with two contrasting liquids. An ideal meeting point of science, art and design, each HYT timepiece blends creativity with exemplary craftsmanship and innovative technology.

HYT is the first and only premium watch brand in the world to seamlessly incorporate an innovative liquid based display efficiently in a mechanical wristwatch. It required 15 years to develop the patented fluidic module of the HYT watch, which offers a radical way of indicating flow of time. The brand utilized the advanced chemistry for developing a liquid-dye, which is durable, legible and UV resistant.

The HYT timepiece is equipped with a specially developed high-end mechanical movement that interfaces with the fluidic display system, whose capillary is filled with two immiscible fluids. The contrasting liquids harmonize each other while maintaining their fundamental distinctiveness.

The award-winning brand offers an impressive collection of high-end wristwatches that fuse micro-mechanical expertise with sophisticated fluid time display technology. Its expanded product line-up offers endless opportunities of the most advanced timekeeping in the haute-horlogerie world. Perfectly blended with quite many state-of-the-art technologies, innovations and creativeness, the HYT watches are a must have possession for passionate collectors.

HYT was co-founded by Patrick Berdoz, Lucien Vouillamoz, Emmanuel Savioz and Vincent Perriard. The luxury brand made its debut with H1, the first hybrid mechanical fluid watch in the world. With this world premiere wristwatch, HYT proved liquids can be successfully integrated into a mechanical watch mechanism.  The innovative fluid module of this wristwatch was created by Swiss company Preciflex in partnership with Helbling Technik. Its mechanical system was developed by Bruno Moutarlier in association with Chronode SA. The HYT H1 was designed by Sébastien Perret and his team in Etude de Style design.

In 2013, HYT introduced the HYT H2, the second opus in the hydro-mechanical watches. In 2015, the brand introduced the HYT H3, the H4 and the Skull models. The unique Swiss brand continued to add modern collections like the HYT H0 in 2017 and the SOONOW in 2019. In 2020, the HYT H5 and the HYT FLOW models were added.

The HYT timepiece incorporates a hybrid mechanism housing an exclusive patented micro-fluid module and a high-end, hand-wound mechanical watch movement. Its fluid module consists of two flexible, multi-layer metal bellows (reservoirs) with a borosilicate glass capillary tube attached at each end. The bellows are ideally located at 6 o’clock, and their walls are typically made of an extremely resistant, flexible alloy, four times finer than human hair. This state-of-the-art module also incorporates thermal compensator and high-tech ceramic fluid restrictors. Depending upon the model, the dial-side of the HYT watches offers full or partial view of the bellows.

One reservoir is filled with a coloured liquid, and the other one has a transparent fluid. While the first compresses, the second expands, and the other way round, resulting in the fluid movement in the capillary. As the hours go by, the fluorescent liquid advances. The hours are displayed correctly by the coloured liquid released from a flexible reservoir. A piston controls the compression as required. With the help of a cam-follower system, the mechanical hand-wound movement supplies energy to the piston. The minutes, seconds and power-reserve functions are indicated by analogue hands or discs, powered by the mechanical engine of the watch.

Launched in 2012, the HYT H1 was the debut model from the brand, and subsequently added more lines. The company also produces exclusive limited editions based on these sophisticated models. At present, the major collections are: H0, H1.0, SOONOW, H2.0, H3, H5 and FLOW. HYT regularly releases a number of exclusive limited edition variants from the brand’s flagship collections.

Introduced in 2017, the HYT H0 watch boasts a reworked and paired down design, allowing the wearer to understand the extremely sophisticated mechanisms of the timepiece. Inspired by the pebble shape, this futuristically designed watch offers magnificent view of its complex mechanisms and indicators with the large, domed sapphire crystal glass. The impressive HYT H0 collection offers the choice of Black, Blue, Green or Red fluids for the hour display. Each HYT H0 timepiece comes with a 48.8mm diameter case and features a matching rubber strap. Depending upon the version, the case is available in stainless steel, Black or Anthracite DLC, or 2N Yellow gold. The dial color varies based on the version. The collection additionally offers diamond set dial variants.

Introduced in 2019, the HYT H1.0 watch features a specially developed skeleton movement and a multi-layer, open-worked dial for providing a three dimensional transparency. Thicker than the H0 model, this stainless steel timepiece comes with silver, black or anthracite (DLC and PVD) case finishing and matching rubber straps.

Also unveiled in 2019, the HYT SOONOW model is a unique interpretation of the brand’s fluidic timekeeping. Featuring the same dimensions of the H1.0 watch, it boasts a multi-dimensional depiction of the human skull on its display side. The multi-layer dial design incorporates hundreds of gold pins forming a distinctive skull shape with thousands of microscopic holes surrounding it. In this timepiece, hour is indicated by colored fluid in the skull shaped capillary on the dial. Seconds and power reserve are indicated respectively by left and right eyes of the skull. Fitted with a matching rubber strap, the HYT SOONOW watch is available in various color versions, including diamond-set editions.

The HYT FLOW model takes the Hydro-mechanical time display into a new level. In addition to the signature features of HYT, this timepiece incorporates an in-house developed light mechanical module. The efficient micro-generator can be energized on demand, for illuminating the LEDs placed on the dial. This illumination system was earlier used in HYT Metropolis, a unique model from the H4 collection. Presently, the HYT FLOW watch is available in two variants. In one version, LEDs are positioned below the baguette diamond-set dome where as in the other variant, the LEDs are placed in a tapered vertex styled ring.

Boldly sized, most of the brand's timepieces feature round cases except the HYT H3 model, which has a linear one. All HYT watches have highly complex dial and case architectures. Depending upon the version, the watches are fitted on a colored rubber or alligator strap. Along with different dial executions with vibrant color choices, the luxury brand presently offers around ten color versions of the rubber strap to complement the specific theme of each timepiece. HYT’s impressive portfolio also includes dials with diamond-setting or inspired by skull patterns.

Presently, the brand offers four liquid hues: black, blue, green and red. The watches also incorporate Swiss Super-LumiNova® technology in various elements to ensure the excellent visibility of the dial display around the clock. Made of stainless steel, gold, carbon fibre or titanium, the case employs polished and satin finish or DLC coating. HYT's timepieces are equipped with a screw-down setting crown at 2H.

All HYT timepieces incorporate domed sapphire crystal glass, which offers perfect dial visibility. The screwed case-back with transparent crystal enables a generous view of the movement components and bellows. Manually wind, the mechanical movement provides approximately 65 hours of power reserve. The water-resistance of HYT watches can be 30 or 50 meters.
