Grand Seiko started its long story in 1960 with mechanical watches. In 1988, the premier quartz Grand Seiko release was shown, with a stunning movement with an accuracy rate of ±10 seconds a year. In 1993, Grand Seiko brought in a new standard in quartz watches with the launch of the 9F8 series which had new features like the Backlash Auto-Adjust Mechanism, the Twin Pulse Control Motor, and the Instant Date Change Mechanism.
