Marked by it's diver's watch inspired design, the Gucci Dive has a contemporary appeal with a black matte dial and rubber strap. A steel and black PVD case with black matte dial and a black rubber strap with ETA quartz movement, there is water resistant to 20 ATM (660 feet/200 metres). Wrist size is adjustable from 162mm to 204mm whilst the Swiss made and two year international warranty is a great one. Since being founded by Guccio Gucci in 1921, Gucci has gone from strength to strength to become perhaps the definitive Italian luxury brand. After working for some time in the grand hotles of Paris and London as an immigrant worker, the young Gucci found himself taken with the beautiful trunks and cases used by the wealthiest guests as luggage. Then, upon return to his native Florence, Gucci established a fine leather goods shop that made use of the city’s long history of producing some of the world’s most highly skilled leather artisans. Over the next twenty years, the brand would enjoy considerable success across Italy, expanding to include stores in Milan and Rome. By the 1950’s and 60’s Gucci had become an internationally renowned brand as glamorous film stars and elites flocked to Florence and wider Italy, which had once more become a fashionable destination for vacations. Very soon, Gucci began to develop into the internationally recognised symbol of wealth and luxury that it is today. After a turbulent period in the 80’s that included the company changing hands on multiple occasions and bitter family disputes almost leading to the brand’s destruction, the hiring of fashion guru Tom Ford as creative director in 1994 proved to be a master stroke. Ford managed to drastically reduce the number of items produced by Gucci from 20,000 to 5,000 which helped to cut costs and reestablish the brand as a truly premium manufacturer. These days Gucci continues to be recognised by all and sundry as a creator of luxurious, high quality goods of all types. Renowned for incredible suits, plush leathers and delicious fragrances, the brand managed to nurture a growing reputation as a serious player in the watchmaking industry. With a wide range of men’s and women’s wristwatches, Gucci produces everything from sports timepieces to formal models designed for evenings and black tie events. Indeed, many of Gucci’s watches are Swiss made, featuring premium materials including diamonds, rose gold and mother of pearl. For Cruise 2019, the Gucci Dive watch blends the casual look of a logo-embossed rubber strap with a symbolic motif of the House: the Kingsnake. There is an ETA quartz movement, water resistant to 20 ATM (660 feet/200 metres) and a wrist size adjustable from 140mm to 200mm. The Gucci Dive timepiece boasts a black dial with their signature kingsnake, an animal supposed to show style and strength. It's been put together in Switzerland from stainless steel, with a moving bezel showed in the brand green and red and powered by a loveable quartz style. Though it's a touch more rebellious than the standard timepiece, it's suitable for everyday wear.
