The 1993 “Bettarini Case” Panerai Luminor had already grabbed the hearts of enthusiasts, while many Panerai lovers are still the bug fans of the historic Italian “Marina Militare” divers of the 1950s. They had to wait almost a decade for the Panerai Luminor 1950 PAM 127 to be released.

In 2002, the brand revived its historical Panerai Luminor watches of the 1950s under the lineup of Panerai Luminor 1950 with reference 127. As suggested by its name, these newer models are the reincarnation of the original models from the 1950s. Initially, these Panerai watches were produced in the limited editions of 1950 pieces which were exclusively meant for addressing the demands of particular watch admirers. This Luminor 1950 PAM 127 featured a 47 mm polished and brushed stainless steel case with an iconic black "sandwich" dial of Luminor.
