When, in 1995, the Japanese watchmaking brand Citizen decided to launch once more its legendary Chronograph watch, little could they have known the success this move would herald. Having first burst onto the scene in 1969 with a complex calibre, the 1995 style was blessed with a no less impressive quartz movement. In order to reduce the chances of the public getting the two models mixed up, the company decided to anoint this new watch “The Citizen.”
