Rolex Watches

Rolex is a luxury watchmaker that champions versatility with its creations, and this is shown from the diverse options we get from its collections. With Rolex, there is no need to turn to somewhere else because it has everything you would ever want. Cellini, one of Rolex’s most magnificent timepieces, is here to snatch your heart.

Even though the Cellini is not necessarily Rolex’s most popular watch, it has gathered a group of admirers of its own nonetheless due to its refined classicism, subtle magnificence and elegance. It is unlike any of the other timepieces in Rolex’s sports watch collection. Now when we come to the name of the Cellini, there is an interesting story to be told. It is named after the well-known goldsmith and sculptor from Italy, Benvenuto Cellini, as an appreciation of his artistry, an ideal quality that is also beheld for Rolex’s luxury timepieces.

The Rolex Cellini was created by hand by Rene-Paul Jeanneret, the man who played a part in inspiring Rolex to produce professional tool watches in the 1950s. Fashioned after a stylish yet classic Art Deco style, the Rolex Cellini was debuted in the 1960s. Its extravagance particularly stood out among other Rolex’s watches, yet it still followed the high precision standards set by Rolex.

The Cellini can be perceived as an alternative to the sports watches from the Oyster range, and a number of new models have been introduced throughout Rolex’s history. However, some have ceased production, such as the Rolex Cellini Cestello, the Rolex Cellini Danaos, and the Rolex Cellini Quartz. Still they offer us some insights into the development of Rolex as a legendary brand.

The Prince – The Rolex Prince was launched in 1928 and is remarkable for its uniquely stylish rectangular shape. The timepiece is a favorite for those who fancy classic features such as a manually wounded mechanical movement but are also into an avant-garde design. The transparent case back reveals the chronometric performance inside, an incredibly exceptional feature for a vintage watch. Besides the charm of its look, the Prince also boasts excellent chronometric precision. It is a versatile piece that can be worn on both formal and casual occasions.

Cestello – The Rolex Cestello is a pleasant and classic wristwatch with a round dial and leather strap. Featuring a polished sapphire crystal, it is a timepiece that is equally elegant and handsome.

Danaos – The Rolex Danaos is notable for the extraordinary design that is completely ahead of its time. Still, it retains a classic charm that is well balanced. This superb timepiece is coveted by all luxury watch lovers.

Years after the Cellini ceased production, it was finally revived in 2014 at the Baselworld. Rolex re-launched the Rolex Cellini collection and introduced models including the Rolex Cellini Time, Cellini Date, as well as Cellini Dual Time. They are targeted as dress watches to go with formal and graceful attire. Since the market started favoring round watches more than rectangular ones, Rolex also added round variants to its Cellini collection in 2014.

The Cellini Time is the most classic, equitable and simplest model among the revived Cellini collection. It comes in four different styles in Everose gold or 18K white gold, or black or white lacquered dial. The 39 mm case is matched by black and brown alligator leather straps.

Let us have a closer look at some of the features of this classic and timeless watch.

The Unbeatable Appearance

Whether you are going to cocktail parties, wedding bouquets, work or even just grocery shopping, the Cellini Time is the perfect piece to accompany you anywhere. It matches well with any kind of outfit, whether formal or casual, and will instantly elevate your fashionable look. The simplest model in all of Cellini’s catalog, the Rolex Cellini received a makeover in 2016 and was given a more complex flair. The new versions of the Cellini Time are now as elaborate and detailed as the other Rolex ranges.

What sets the Cellini Time apart from the other watches is its clean yet symmetrical design which strikes a perfect balance. The revived Cellini Time comes with a screw down crown and narrow bezel with a fluted ring complemented by facet-cut baton hour markers. The 39 mm dial is matched by sword-shaped hands, as well as Roman numerals at the 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions. Together with a lustrous strap that is finely polished and fattened projected buckles, the timepiece gives off a retro vibe of the 1950s.

The Unstoppable Movement

Like other Rolex watches, the Cellini Time runs on Rolex’s in-house movement that has earned the Superlative Chronometer title for its high performance and precision. Not only does it receive the Green Seal certification, but it has also passed COSC tests for the COSC Chronometer certification and Rolex’s own Rolex Certification. After rigorous tests, the timepiece boasts an accuracy level of -2/+2 seconds per day. The automatic movement also has good power retention of about 48 hours as it operates at 4Hz (28,800bph).

Looking for a dress watch? The Cellini Time is the choice for you. Or are you searching for a handsome and elegant timepiece? The Cellini Time still makes an ideal pick. It is a watch with plenty of style options and all of them do not disappoint.
